Walking Looking and Telling Tales

I was commissioned to make a new work for Cherryburn, the birthplace of the artist Thomas Bewick; work that reflected the site, the landscape and its history. The paintings were made to be site specific, to be seen in the bedroom in the cottage. The installation of the paintings, a series of miniature landscapes, brought the outside world, the world that was at the heart of Bewick’s prints and publications, into the cottage.
